During the world war 2 there was a factory. They army went into the factory and killed all the people. Heydo and his friends survived. I think the author wanted this so that in the story, there will be action. If this is a true story I think that it is very sad.

For me the sadest part of chapter 8 was that the mom died. I think that the author wants to show how everyone, can be strong even without thier mom. The mom probobly died from losing her parents, and how after the war, they were suppose to go to her parents. "She turned her head, and her arm droped." After that quote, I knew what would happend. I thought that it was really sad.
